Grassland habitat of Whitewater Draw (mostly non-native dominated) hosts breeding Scaled Quail (Nat. Blackbirds, Yellow-headed and Red-winged, occur in very large numbers (in the hundreds) in the winter. Swallows, Tree and Violet-green, occur in large numbers in migration. Both the Sora and Virginia?s Rail are present in migration, and may breed. Summer nesting species, when conditions are favorable include: Mexican Ducks (subspecies diazi), Black-necked Stilt, American Avocet, Pied-billed Grebes, and Cinnamon Teal. The diversity of waterfowl present in winter at the Wildlife Area, is also noteworthy, including Northern Shovelor, Green-winged Teal, Mallard, American Wigeon, Northern Pintail, Cinnamon Teal, Blue-winged Teal, Gadwall, Mexican Duck, Ring-necked Duck, Lesser Scaup, and Canada Goose, and rarely White-fronted Goose. Sulphur Springs Valley, a raptor hotspot in the winter (including for owls), brings numerous raptor species into Whitewater Draw, they include (in approximate relative abundance) Red-tailed Hawk, Northern Harrier, Barn Owl (+30 on site 2008), Cooper?s Hawk, American Kestrel, Ferruginous Hawk, Great Horned Owl, Bald Eagle, and Golden Eagle. Many species of relatively small populations (in Arizona in the winter) also are known to occur regularly at the Wildlife Area in small numbers, they include Bald Eagle (1-2), Golden Eagle (1-2), Ferruginous Hawk (1-5), Prairie Falcon (1-2), and occasionally Peregrine and Merlin (all of these species are of ?conservation status? in AZ, except Merlin). Two other species of conservation status occur in the winter and migration periods at Whitewater Draw, but no quantitative surveys for these species have occurred, they include: Mountain Plover (winter), rare, 0 to 40 individuals occasionally (IUCN: Vulnerable, Audubon/ABC WatchList 07- Red) and Long-billed Curlew (spring & fall migration), ?teens? to 40+ birds, (IUCN: Near Threatened, Audubon/ABC WatchList 07- Yellow). The Greater subspecies breeds in the northern states of the continental U.S., and the Lesser subspecies, breeds from Alaska and eastern Siberia. Counts of Sandhill Cranes in early January have steadily climbed from 4,000 in 1991 to over 22,000 in 2008 at Whitewater Draw, with another 13,000 present 36 miles north in the Willcox Playa area, and another 600 present in the far north of Sulphur Springs Valley at Bonita, AZ, and 400 present in the Safford Valley near Duncan. The area also supports wintering Snow Geese (80-200) and a few Ross?s Geese (occasional to 40). Whitewater Draw is in the southern Sulphur Springs Valley and cranes are coming from both the Rocky Mountain population and Mid-Continental population. This Arizona Game and Fish Wildlife Area is of state and regional significance as the primary wintering area for Sandhill Cranes (Grus canadensis) in Arizona, and includes both the Lesser (most numerous) and Greater subspecies. It was acquired by Arizona Game and Fish Department in 1997 Ornithological Summary There are two small patches of riparian habitat. Approximately 600 acres (1448 hectares) are the wetland. This Important Bird Area, is dominated by a ephemeral lake, patchy marshlands, and semi-arid grasslands.

As of October 18, almost 6.7 billion vaccine doses had been administered globally, with China, India and the European Union giving out the most shots in total. While restrictions like mask mandates and shutting down non-essential businesses can help to curb the virus if enforced correctly, the best protection against hospitalization and death still appears to be getting vaccinated, even though the protection against the infection itself is losing efficacy over time. The independent Republic of Ireland ranks third with 227 days after the Greater Buenos Aires area with 245 cumulative days. As of now, Northern Ireland had to endure 223 total days of lockdowns, with England and Wales following closely behind with 213 and 212 days, respectively. The country in question is, of course, the UK, where steadily rising case numbers and the discovery of a possible new Delta mutation have caused doctors to call for reintroducing the restrictions abolished on Freedom Day in July. As our chart shows, especially one of the countries lagging behind now might soon overtake Melbourne in light of recent events. While this iteration of restrictive measures only lasted 78 days, Australia’s second-largest city leads the world with a cumulative 262 days spent with parts of the economy shut down to prevent the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant. Melbourne will end its latest lockdown at 11:59 PM local time today. Typical features of these categories of media converters include full wire speed performance, SFP flexibility, best conversion latency, link fault pass through, and low power consumption, among others. Industrial Media Converters: VERSITRON’S Industrial fiber optic converters are designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions. There are three network speed settings: 10/100 auto-sensing, 10Base fixed, or 100Base fixed. Single fiber media converters can accommodate either 10Base or 100Base networks or both. Single Fiber Media Converters: These media converters are designed to transmit and receive signals over one strand of fiber optic cable. Therefore, these devices can provide either 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps networking speeds on the Ethernet side. 10/100Base Ethernet Media Converters: Also known as our “Double Duty” Media Converters, these devices are designed to convert a 10/100Base Fast Ethernet UTP electrical signal into light signals for transmission over Multimode or Single mode fiber optic cables.Gigabit Media Converter with Fiber: These media converters are designed to convert 10/100Base or 1000Base Ethernet to 1000Base Gigabit speeds over fiber utilizing the latest SFP technology. The models we offer under this category include: Types of Fiber Optic Media Converters Offered by VERSITRON We offer a lifetime warranty for all our media converters. These fiber media converters are offered in multiple connector types, including LC, SC, and ST. We offer POE as well as ruggedized industrial media converters, fiber optic to Ethernet converters, dual wavelength (WDM) or bidirectional fiber options. VERSITRON offers 10/100 and 10/100/1000 double duty Fast Ethernet as well as triple duty Gigabit media converters. Typically, there are three form factors of media converters- compact standalone devices, PC card converters, and high port-density chassis systems. They can be used as patch cables and connectors to support Layer 3 switching. In terms of long-distance transmission, they help extend the geographical distance by about 100 km, depending on the network type and requirement. When a fiber media converter receives signals from one device or media, it is not visible to the other connected devices on the network. They send and receive electrical signals from a Cat5 or Cat6 cable and convert them to light pulses and send them over fiber optic cables, and vice-versa. Fiber optic media converters operate on the physical layer of the OSI model, which is the first model. Both these types of cables can be connected to fiber media converters. The Hudson name was continued on a reskinned version of the Nash Ambassador, and for ’55, this second-generation Hornet could be had with the trusty 308 CID L-head six or a Packard-built 320 CID V8. When Hudson and Nash merged on to create American Motors, the decision was made to discontinue the aged Hudson step-down platform, which now dated back seven years. Teague won seven NASCAR events driving Hornets, including the Daytona beach races in 19, while Thomas and Yunick teamed up to crush the NASCAR field in 1953-54, winning 24 times in 71 starts, including the 1954 Southern 500. For their race car signage, Hudson campaigners adopted the company’s current ad tagline, “Fabulous Hudson Hornet,” creating one of the great racing logos of all time.Īs much as anyone, the three racers above put Hudson on top in the early days of NASCAR, from left: Drivers Marshall Teague and Herb Thomas and mechanic extraordinaire Smokey Yunick. The manufacturer developed special heavy-duty axles, chassis components, and the 7X engine, a factory-blueprinted H-145 with overbored cylinders, knurled pistons, and a trick camshaft, all offered over the counter. He managed to persuade Hudson management in Detroit to back his efforts, becoming the first racer in NASCAR with a factory sponsorship, it’s often said. Marshall Teague, a savvy NASCAR driver from Daytona Beach, Florida who had previously campaigned Lincolns, was quick to grasp the Hornet’s potential in stock car racing, recognizing its low center of gravity, battleship construction, and muscular engine. market in those days, the H-145 could be mated to a three-speed manual or General Motors Hydra-Matic transmission ($158 extra). The Twin-H Power setup (shown above) included a pair of Carter carburetors with greater throat area and improved fuel distribution, and was eventually rated at 170 hp. Thoroughly over-engineered in the Hudson tradition, the H-145 boasted a high-chromium-alloy block and other premium features, and in mid-1951 the famed Twin-H version appeared, first as an over-the-counter dealer kit and later as a regular production option (1952). In baseline form the Hornet six was rated at 145 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque-more than competitive with the state-of-the-art Olds Rocket V8, which boasted 135 hp from 303 cubic inches. So the H-145 was essentially the old 262 CID Super Six bored and stroked to 308 CID and with some careful improvements. Hudson lacked the financial resources to develop a modern overhead-valve V8, but it did have plenty of machine tools and know-how to suit the venerable flathead six. Of course, the Hornet’s truly special feature was its engine, the mighty H-145. The price was $2,568, identical to a Commodore Eight. In its first year on the market, the Hornet became Hudson’s most popular model with nearly 44,000 sold. Above, three stylish ladies at the Cranbrook Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan admire a Hornet Sedan. At mid-year a trendy Hollywood two-door pillarless hardtop came along. Three body styles were initially offered: a two-door Club Coupe, a four-door Sedan, and a two-door Convertible Brougham. Introduced in September of 1950 with the rest of the Hudson model line, the Hornet was based on the deluxe-sized Commodore and its 124-inch wheelbase Monobilt platform, but with special exterior trim, interior appointments, and H-theme Hornet emblems. It was so successful, both in the showrooms and in NASCAR competition down south, that the rest of the ’48-’54 Hudson models seem to dwell in its shadow. (Read our feature on the influential 1948-54 Hudsons here.) In truth, the Hornet was a new premium model in the series launched for the 1951 model year. Such is the power of the Hornet name that it has eclipsed the other models in the Hudson lineup in those years, including the Wasp, Commodore, and Pacemaker. The Hudson Hornet-sorry, we mean the Fabulous Hudson Hornet-might be the most memorable car the company ever built.įolks can be forgiven for assuming that all the Hudsons of the step-down era were Hornets. Overall, XCOM 2 was seen as a strong follow-up to its predecessor "XCOM: Enemy Unknown", and a worthy addition to the XCOM franchise. The game's visuals and audio were also generally well-received, with some praising the tense and atmospheric soundtrack and others criticizing the limited character animations and facial expressions. Some criticisms of the game included its steep difficulty curve, which could make it difficult for new players to get into, and the sometimes repetitive nature of certain elements, such as the strategy layer. The turn-based tactical missions were seen as well-designed and providing a high level of replayability, with many players enjoying the variety of choices and approaches that could be taken during each encounter. The game was praised for its challenging and rewarding gameplay, diverse cast of soldiers and enemies, and strategic depth. XCOM 2 was generally well-received by critics and players upon its release. Ultimately, the length of XCOM 2 will depend on the player's individual progress and playstyle. The game also includes various side missions and optional objectives that can add additional playtime. Additionally, there are multiple difficulty levels to choose from, with higher difficulties generally taking longer to complete due to increased challenges. On average, a single playthrough of the game can take anywhere from 32-34 hours to complete, though some players may take longer or shorter amounts of time depending on their choices and approach to the game. The length of XCOM 2 can vary greatly depending on the player's playstyle and difficulty level. The game is won or lost based on the player's decisions and actions in both the strategy and tactical portions of the game. Overall, the goal of XCOM 2 is to successfully lead the resistance against the alien invasion and ultimately reclaim Earth for humanity. The player must also make decisions on how to use limited resources such as ammunition, medkits, and special abilities during the mission. The player must navigate the battlefield, take cover, and use the unique abilities and weapons of each soldier to outmaneuver and defeat the enemy. Tactical missions: In tactical missions, the player commands a squad of soldiers in turn-based combat against the enemy aliens. This includes choosing which missions to undertake, deciding how to allocate resources and determining which technologies to research and develop. Strategy: In the strategy portion of the game, the player must manage resources, recruit and train soldiers, research new technologies, and make decisions that will impact the outcome of the war against the aliens. The basic gameplay consists of two main elements: strategy and tactical missions. XCOM 2 is a turn-based tactical strategy game. The exact player count for XCOM 2 multiplayer may also depend on the specific version of the game and any platform-specific restrictions that may apply. The exact number of players for each multiplayer match may vary depending on the platform, as some platforms may have limitations on the number of players that can participate in a single match. In multiplayer mode, up to four players can cooperate to complete missions together. In single-player, the player controls a squad of soldiers in turn-based combat against the enemy aliens. XCOM 2 supports both single-player and multiplayer modes. Now, you get two extras to play with! This gives cats a lot more flexibility in their skillsets! It's a very good change.Īnother new thing, both cats and human hunters can go into "SP Mode." Cats trigger this mode by doing their Support Bias' "Signature Move" i.e. Previously, you only got one wild card slot to fill with a move your current support bias didn't have access to (usually filled with Piercing Boomerangs or Emergency Retreat), and probably a DLC passive skill. Third, all support biases get an extra teachable move and skill slot, which you can fill at the Dojo. Speaking personally, I'm deep into G-rank and I have yet to even touch my actual human hunter yet. kinda oh well? You get such disgusting amounts of gauge, you barely notice the lowered stats. Yeah, they're not as good at speedrunning compared to human hunters, but. doesn't affect them as much as you would think. As you can see, your max stats are still (mostly) higher, but not nearly as much as you would expect with nearly doubling the level cap. Top numbers are for vanilla Generations bottom are for GenU. This is somewhat balanced by the fact that cat stats ate a bit of a nerf compared to vanilla Generations. Secondly, everyone gets faster meter gain across the board. This carries with it: more stats, more Support Move slots, and more passive slots! Now, at Level 99, you will have: 7 Support Move slots, 8 passive Skill slots, and 9 bars of Support Move Gauge (just gauge, or meter, for short). For starters, the cat level cap is increased from 50 to 99. There are some changes that affect all support biases. You would NOT believe how hard it is to find good info on cats. The rest of it I got from the Prowler Compendium on Reddit. Most of my info is aped directly from his videos. He has by far the most concise and concrete information on all things Prowler. Quick note, I must give a shoutout to Gaijinhunter on the YouTubes. We're starting from scratch! We'll start with a basic overview of the eight support biases, and how they've changed in GenU. Basically, all the stuff I went over before in Prowlers and Mew? Yeah, just forget all that. So, cats got a major overhaul in Generations Ultimate. Part 25: Overview "Will it Cat?" The downside, of course, is that weaker characters like Vorga are wasted on the frontlines, and friendly fire is a thing, so Rathka players could end up decimating their own team in the chaos. At least, this is how things are meant to play out, but initially, the urge is strong for everyone in the team to just leap into action and flail away at opponents. Renar is another formidable fighter but favors agility over armor, while Vorga is best kept behind the frontlines to provide support for the team through healing. Rathka is a frontline fighter with a massive shield and enough armor to take on an entire team. The game is played in the third person, and players have access to three initial characters. After that, it is up to players to put this knowledge to good use and master the techniques if they want to have a shot at victory.
